LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction

Many of us carry stubborn pockets of fat that persist despite diet or exercise. Liposuction is a sculpting technique that was created to recontour areas of excess fat. It is an effective and predictable method for improving the contour of areas such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, chin, arm, neck, buttocks, ankles, and knees, and is sometimes known as liposculpting. The result is the firmer, more toned body of your youth.

What results can I expect from liposuction?

Liposuction is performed as an outpatient procedure, and although you can expect some swelling and bruising, you may return to work the next day. You will need to wear a compression garment over the treated area for three weeks, 24 hours a day, and then at night for an additional three weeks. Most patients will see a significant improvement in the treated area immediately, although it can take up to six months for your final results to be fully revealed as swelling resolves.

What is involved in liposuction?

During your liposuction procedure, a tiny incision is made in the area to be treated. Our surgeon will then use a cannula, which is a small stainless steel tube, to suction away the fat deposits that reside between your skin and your muscle.
